I don't have a gps device, how can I enter my trail ?
You can enter a trail by hand by using the map on the 'map a trail' page.
  1. Start by focusing the map to the location of your trail. This can be done either by using the map controls on the left side of the map, or by typing in your location into the 'Zoom map to city' button and hitting enter.
  2. To create create a point, click on on the map. Each point you create will be connected to the point before it with a orange line. In the lower left of the page, there are statistics of distance and elevation gain.
  3. To move a point, place the cursor over the red marker and click and drag.
  4. To delete a point, place the cursor over the point and double-click.
  5. To clear all points, use the link on the left hand side of the map labeled 'Clear Points'.
How do I upload GPS data?
On the 'Map A Trail' Page, there is a 'Upload GPS Data' Link.
This takes you to a page where you can choose the gps data file from your local computer to upload.

Currently TrailChaser only supports GPX formated files. More information below on how to convert your file into a gpx file.
How do I create a GPX file?
There are many ways to convert a file. Rather than creating yet another list of resources, check out the topografix gpx resource page.
Can I enter a trail without an account?
Yes, no registration is required to upload a gpx file or map your trail by hand.
Can I enter a trail without an account?
Users with accounts can view a page that list all the trails they have entered. In the future more features will be added that will only be enabled for account holders.
Can I download a trail gps data?
Sorry, not yet. This is on the wish list.
Can I add photos to my trail?
Not yet, it's comming very soon.
Do you have a gps? What kind do you recommend ?
Yes, I have a Garmin 60csx. I've taken it on hikes in dense forest and it still manages to maintain a connection and get great data.
